I applaud the very idea that students should balance these two issues. No one should work at a job she hates - but majoring in a useless degree is also not the greatest idea.

Great post. Even after living in the halls for a few years I remember things that I need. I still do not have a tool kit and when I am running around looking for someone with a screwdriver I wish I did. Some other things that could be on the list would be batteries, microwave, first aid kit and an extension cord. I can never seem to remember that I need batteries when I go to the store, so it is great when I can get a larger pack from home and I just have them in a drawer for when I need them.

Great blog topic! We agree that fitting the right major for you is more important than making the decision early. One way to think about your choice in major and school is thinking about your personality and learning style. For example, are you naturally skeptical or not? Take a look at what one of our experts had to say about program choice and learning type: http://www.aristotlecircle.com/blog/personality-and-learning-style

EXCELLENT advice. It's so important to take a very calculated approach towards the question of "how much return am I realistically going to receive on my college investment?"

Great article! The most important thing is to find a cause you're passionate about - volunteering should never be calculated or forced.
